Fostering an inclusive environment and nurturing the social needs of our residents is a hugely important part of life at Nazareth House Crosby. This includes welcoming friends and family to play an active role in our residents’ social lives and placing no restrictions upon visiting hours so that loved ones are able to freely spend time together as they would do in their own home.

Our passionate activity coordinators provide an engaging timetable of daily in-house entertainment and residents also have the option to enjoy regular outings, supporting them to feel well-connected to life beyond the house. We reinforce this by encouraging our seniors to continue to pursue hobbies and passions that are important to them, as well as exploring new interests.

Nurturing the spiritual needs of our residents is also of paramount importance to us. We are extremely proud of our beautiful chapel, which offers a truly inviting and peaceful space in which to celebrate mass. We welcome residents, visitors and the general public to come celebrate mass with us, providing another wonderful touchpoint for togetherness at Nazareth House. In the spirit of inclusion, we also offer to administer communion to those residents who are unable to attend mass at chapel, providing this service to them in the comfort of their own room.

    Antonia RileyGeneral Manager

I have worked in care for 30 years now starting as a dining room assistant at the age of 15 at Nazareth House Crosby. During this time I obtained my NVQ Level II to become a Carer and by the age of 25, I had undertaken my NVQ Level III to become a Senior Carer.

Throughout the years there have been many changes and I worked hard to become a Team Leader and went on to be appointed Head of Care, working alongside 2 other Managers before being asked to undertake the role of General Manager and have been in post since January 2022.

The General Manager during Covid-19 asked Kate to work in the Office and assist with the newly implemented systems and documents put into place due to Covid-19 and Kate has remained in the Office, working alongside myself as we were both new to our Roles supporting each other and we work well as a Team. Kate also recently registered to undertake her NVQ Level V Diploma in Health & Social Care.

    Maria WatkinsonCatering Manager

Maria has worked at Nazareth House Crosby for 33 years and for most of those years, as Head of Kitchen and Catering Manager, working alongside 4 other members of staff. Over those years Maria has gained training qualifications and experience which have placed her where she is today and she has always been an active member of staff, being involved in many activities, such as coffee mornings and holding fetes and cake sales to raise funds for residents’ activities.

Maria has always been comfortable working for the Sisters and finds Nazareth Care Charitable Trust to be very encouraging and rewarding, especially when residents express their appreciation towards the Home. Having said this, Maria listens and takes on board requests and or constructive criticism and together the Team carefully plans the Menus, knowing that at the end of each day, when Maria goes home, she has tried her best.
