Our Core Values

We are committed to embodying the Gospel and our core values extend into every aspect of our work. These principles guide the unique spirit of every Nazareth House, shaping our actions and inspiring our mission. They are more than ideals; they are the foundation of our identity and the lens through which we view and serve the world.

Whether in the care we provide, the relationships we build, or the communities we nurture, these values are a living expression of our faith and purpose. We believe in the transformative power of these values in action, which drive us to make a meaningful difference in the lives of all those whom we care for.

Let your love for each other be real and from the heart. (1 Peter 1:22)

Unselfish concern for the good of others is shown through patience, kindness, trust, hope, endurance, truth and a strong affection. We aim to create an environment of warmth and respect where residents feel truly valued and supported, and cultivate a genuine sense of family that celebrates each individual’s dignity and worth. The principle of love is reflected in every interaction, from the smallest gestures to the most significant decisions.

Blessed are the gentle for they shall possess the earth. (Matt 5:5)

Being open and attentive to the whole person, spiritually, physically and emotionally, we show empathy for the suffering of others and try to relieve that suffering. We demonstrate a heartfelt commitment to the wellbeing of our residents, striving to understand their unique challenges and experiences, and responding with sensitivity and support. We adapt care approaches to maintain dignity at all times, sharing in both joys and challenges to create a sense of trust and companionship.

As often as you did it to one of these….you did it to me. (Matt 25:40)

In all circumstances we persevere calmly with understanding and endurance. Patience shines through in the time our staff dedicate to listening attentively to residents’ stories, understanding their unique needs, and allowing them the space to express themselves without rush. Respectful communication means regarding our residents thoughts, concerns, and feedback to ensure they feel truly heard and understood.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice for they shall be satisfied. (Matt 5:6)

The unique dignity of each person is held in high esteem and with special consideration. Without exception, we show thoughtfulness, courtesy and care. This includes taking time to learn about each resident’s personal history, cultural background, interests, and preferences, and encouraging them to make decisions about their daily lives, such as meal choices, activities, and personal schedules.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for justice for they shall be satisfied. (Matt 5:6)

We uphold what is fair, decent, respecting his or her rights in a balanced and fair manner. We respect residents’ legal and ethical rights, including their right to privacy, autonomy, and informed decision-making. Moreover, we maintain an inclusive culture that values diversity, ensuring that no resident, family member or staff member is treated unfairly based on race, gender, religion, disability, or other personal characteristics.

I was a stranger and you welcomed me. (Matt 25:37)

We welcome and receive all into a warm, friendly and open atmosphere. We engender hospitality to make residents, their families, and visitors feel at home, fostering a sense of belonging, comfort, and community through thoughtful practices and attitudes. This includes designing inviting living quarters, and providing comfortable spaces for those in our care to spend quality time with their loved ones.

Family MemberNazareth House Crosby
Mum has been at Nazareth House since Aug 2022, I was anxious about her going into a care home and wasn’t sure how she would adapt. She went at first for a period of 4 weeks but then asked myself and my family if she had to go home or if she could stay and sell her house. This was all the clarification I needed to know mum was being cared for well and she was happy.

The staff go above and beyond to ensure residents are very well cared for. I often see great kindness shown to residents when staff do not know I am passing by. This is a sign of genuine care and love
