About Nazareth Care
Nazareth Care in the United Kingdom is the operating arm of the Congregation of the Sisters of Nazareth, a Catholic religious Congregation. Find out more about the Sisters of Nazareth by visiting their global website here, where you can find information about the Sisters, joining the Congregation, and their work in other parts of the world.
Nazareth Care operates with the same core values as the Sisters of Nazareth, love, compassion, patience, respect, justice and hospitality. We work closely with the Sisters of Nazareth to ensure the highest quality care for all our residents and children.

Our history
The Congregation of the Sisters of Nazareth has a long history of care that dates back over 150 years, a history that we as a Trust are proud to be a part of, and to honour.
The first Nazareth House was built by the Sisters in 1857. This original care home, situated in Hammersmith, London, was created with the mission of caring for the elderly and is operational to this day. It is now happily joined by 15 additional facilities across the United Kingdom, as well as a day nursery, and many other sites in numerous locations worldwide.

Serving with spiritual purpose
Many of our residents will, upon joining us or at some point on their journey with us, require guidance, a compassionate ear, or the comfort and reassurance of engaging with their faith. Alongside attending to our residents’ physical and emotional needs, we aim to provide spiritual support to any and all residents who feel it would be of benefit to them.
All the Sisters in our community can offer pastoral care where requested. Each of our Houses also benefits from an on-site chapel, at which residents may celebrate daily mass and other services, or spend time in peaceful reflection. In certain cases we are able to offer the option to facilitate in-room communion for those unable to attend mass in chapel.
Crucially, we welcome older people of all religious and non-religious backgrounds. Each individual who joins our community is treated as an equal, and we feel exceptionally privileged to be able to support residents with such a varied range of lived experience.
We believe it is important to provide an environment where spiritual inclusivity may be allowed to thrive, and so our Houses also welcome visiting ministers of other faiths.

A part of the community
Our ties to the communities within which we provide care services are a crucial aspect of our excellent regional reputation. Many of our residents enjoy time out and about in their local area, as well as time spent engaging with members of the community through in-house events and activities. Several Houses also provide facilities that benefit the public, such as chapels and communal gardens, and it is a pleasure to share these spaces.
We are very fortunate to be supported by Friends of Nazareth, a volunteering group that exists to benefit the lives of all our residents. Each regional arm of the group takes a unique and equally dedicated approach to supporting our Houses, including providing assistance with fundraising and help to facilitate local projects and events. Throughout the year our dedicated volunteers also contribute their time to the individuals in receipt of our services, acting as invaluable members of the Nazareth Care family.
What to expect
We understand that moving home can feel like a significant step, which is why we are committed to doing everything we can to make the process a comfortable and supportive experience.
Prior to you joining one of our homes or villages, our friendly staff will aim to get to know as much as they can about your life experiences, your friends and family, and any medical needs you may have. Developing this understanding of you as a person allows us to shape your experience with us to suit your lifestyle needs, including putting in place any additional support required to make your transition easier, such as a personal care plan.
Each House is run by a House Manager, who is contactable by email or telephone. If you would like to meet our staff and gain a first-hand sense of all a site has to offer, you are also welcome to visit the House directly.
Some of our sites, such as Larmenier Retirement Village, also offer the option to live with us on a trial basis, which can help you to determine if it’s the right environment for you.
